The Sportsman's Dinner held on the 3rd of November in the Marine Court Hotel Bangor was a resounding success. Master of Ceremonies GEORGE JONES had a full house in stitches with his humorous introductions. Guest of Honour PADDY CRERAND kept us enthralled with his anecdotes of his playing days with Celtic, Manchester United, and Scotland. HOWARD WELLS was also in attendance and it was great to see that the IFA is concerned with Junior Clubs and is willing to show their support to functions such as this. George Jones then conducted an auction of donated gifts. These included a Northern Ireland shirt signed by the victorious squad against Spain, a signed Linfield shirt, A signed Manchester City shirt but perhaps the star item was a signed,framed,fully documented and authenticated John Terry Chelsea shirt. Other items included a box for 8 at QPR, 2 tickets including travel and accomodation for Manchester United v Charlton, travel for 2 and a car Belfast - Liverpool and return, also membership packages for both "Fitness First" and "Ards Leisure Center". Many thanks to all who donated and all who purchased. Thanks are also due to the Hotel staff. The full amount raised for the Lighthouse Trust is still being caluclated and will be included when available. Great credit is due to the organisers particulairly Billy Mac.
